About Peña

Aaron Peña Wants to Make a Difference
For our children to have the lives we want for them, Representative Peña believes we must provide leadership with courage and passion.
Representative Peña respects the values of a South Texas community rooted in deep family traditions, and principles like hard work and fair play that are rewards in and of themselves. He understands that for too long our community has suffered from a political environment that puts personalities and party bosses ahead of good ideas.
Aaron Peña is asking for your vote to represent our community as an independent, strong and decisive leader.
New Beginning: Principle, Passion and Service
Representative Peña has served five terms in the Texas House of Representatives. His first four terms as a conservative Democrat, and now as a respected Republican leader.
Representative Peña’s decision to switch parties is an important part of a lifelong passion to make a difference and a desire to always put people and ideas before politics.
In 2001 Aaron Peña was running for chairman of the state Democratic Party when he tragically lost his young son to drugs. But Peña, with the support of his family, friends and his community turned the despair of his son’s death into a crusade to bring much needed attention and resources to substance abuse education and treatment. In 2002, Peña was elected to his first term to the Texas House.
